Throughout the year in Singapore, there will be at least 3 or 4 major IT exhibitions at Suntec or Singapore Expo, be it IT Show, PC Show, SITEX, COMEX, etc. Thousands of people will be attracted to these events, looking for some great deals. That's why you will see crowds like this...
No kidding, people are everywhere
Display sets available for testing
Price bidding! The scene is just like politicians having campaigns for upcoming General Election
But one good thing to attend IT show (or car show) is that you can improve your photography skills on portrait photos by taking photos with leng luis (pretty girls in Cantonese)...
looking for best deals...
Models from GE Digital Camera
Models promoting Trend Micro softwares
This one with built-in flash...
Sony girl promoting PS3 game console
Another Sony girl...HOT!
By the way, I just got myself a new toy Canon DSLR 550D during this IT Show, quite a great deal as with the launch of 600D, the price of 550D went down. With the advantage of pay lesser, I equipped my toy further with 55-250IS lens.
Photos above were taken using my 550D. Do give comments ya!
My family members came down to Singapore weeks ago to visit me as well as to get to feel Christmas celebration in Singapore, especially my sister who was the first time travelling out from Malaysia. They started the journey to the South by joining Resorts World Sentosa tour, which includes to and fro Ipoh & Singapore via excursion bus, tour around Resorts World Sentosa, $20.00 worth of chips for you to play around the casino, $10.00 lunch meal voucher and boat tour around Singapore River...guest how much for this one day travel package? Just RM58.00!!! I was stunned as it was a real great deal (fyi, taking normal bus trip between Ipoh - Singapore will easily cost you RM40.00 & above)!
As they are coming for a 3 days 2 nights trip, so I booked Strand Hotel family room with 2 queen sized bed. Met them after the end of Singapore River tour. Clean and spacious, with sports and movie channels available. Recommended as the hotel is also within city area, 5-10 minutes walking distance to Orchard Road shopping belt, Bugis Street & National Museum of Singapore, 24-hours Kopitiam food court & 7-11 just right opposite the hotel, and Bras Basah MRT station, bus stops, cabs are all around. S$240/night incl. tax & breakfast for 4 person, I think it's a great deal for family vacations.
We have good food...
Hotel breakfast with unlimited bread, no wonder my parents said the portion is quite large
Seafood dinner at Jumbo Seafood Restaurant
Dim Sum at Crystal Jade Restaurant
We have good walking (yeah, lots of walking & walking) & sightseeing around Singapore...
Bugis Kwan Imm Temple
Nice? Shot taken from a store in The Shoppes at Marina Band Sands
Orchard Road for X'mas Deco
City Hall & Suntec's Fountain of Wealth, known for its good feng-shui. Huat ah!!!
Shopping around Vivo City
Another shot in Bugis Street
My family members enjoyed the trip very much and for me, its a very good self-recharge trip as I haven't rest much since coming back from the Cruise trip in September, busy with my job & business.
Year 2010 is going to an end, have you reviewed what you've achieved in past one year? Start to reflect back on yourself and plan for Year 2011? For me, I foresee lots of meaningful achievements and breakthroughs will happen in 2011.
Attitude + Belief + Commitment + Discipline = Success & we can make it!
This coming Sunday – 14th February 2010 is Valentine’s Day + 1st Day of Lunar New Year!!! I think this could be once in a lifetime opportunity to witness both grand occasions to be on the same day. Very memorable indeed, so I think you should be looking around for a meaningful gift for your partner (to celebrate in pairs for N years, 双双对对) as well as for your family reunion celebration (团团圆圆).
“Err…what kind of gifts I should buy? *crack head*”
Bouquet of flowers? – will not last long, after a few days sure throw away into dustbin.
Abalone or bird nest set? – after eat, goes into stomach, no more.
House décors? – not very useful, put it aside, after one year spidermen will conquer it.
Diamond ring? – emm, need to save money first, wait until engagement buy a big big one.
Then, what to buy???
No worries, I have an idea which can solve your troubles.
Introducing…Bio-M Ring!
Specially made by Japanese copper, this ring is capable to smoothen body’s cold, wetness and tension effectively. It can be wear for long term and through frictional effect, heat will be generated, releasing copper element by dissolving into body sweats and penetrates into body cells.
This helps to replenish copper element in our body, which is involved in the formation of blood cells, adsorption and utilization of iron, stimulates the body immune system to fight infections, repair injured tissues, and promote healing (Source: copperinfo.com).
You have a positive, negative, and neutral charge always coexisting within your human identity. Sometimes you have too much of one and your body needs to flush it out. Sometimes you have too little and your body needs a 'charge'.So, magnetic field circulation of Bio-M Ring can help to balance the charges in your body, enhance blood circulation, more energetic and able to sleep well.
Healthy, durable, everlasting, simple but elegant, this is a perfect gift for your partner as Valentine’s gift, as well as for your family members to maintain good health, enjoying a healthy, prosperous Lunar New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year cum Valentine’s Day 2010!!!
Happy Valentine's Day to all the couples! 祝全天下的情侣们情人节快乐! For me who already been a "yat ji gung" 一支公 for past 23 years, 一支公快乐!
Well, share with you this podcast by 987fm DJ Justin Ang & Vernon A on how to interpret or modify 2 popular English songs into Valentine's mood...very very funny, very 抵死...even though it has been released one year ago:
Yesterday, got myself a free Singapore Flyer complimentary ticket which I won in earlier contest from WorldCard office at Dhoby Ghaut (very far...). Plan to use this opportunity to capture photos from the capsule high in the sky...perhaps after FYP report submission?
Don't know for this visit, will the Flyer halt again for x hours and get rescued from the capsule using sling-like device? More worth and exciting, but choi choi choi, touchwood!
As I didn't come out from NTU since came back from Malaysia after CNY celebration (which is 2 weeks+ ago), gave myself a treat at Jurong Point then. Have my brunch at Delifrance Bistro with seared fish w black pepper meal set (S$11.90, S$14.00 after tax).
In fact, Delifrance offers affordable set meals in weekdays after 11.30am: S$7.90 & S$11.90 set, which consist of soup of the day/maison salad, main dish, dessert and coffee/tea. And in every different day, it offers different main dishes, say I was offered to choose between seared fish set or chicken + steak chop set for S$11.90 meal package, whereas S$7.90 are mostly spaghetti or pastas.
Corn soup with garlic bread, nice one.
Coffee...quite a big cup, right?
The main dish, seared fish with black pepper, together with cauliflowers, carrot sticks and fries. The meat isn't that delicious, quite rough.
The finale, strawberry cake. Yummy dessert and really have strawberries inside!! But somehow the strawberries are covered with shaved ice. Is the fridge too cold? Does its icing layer looks like salmon fish?
Overall, at a price of S$14.00 after tax and service charge, Delifrance offers very affordable set meals to the mass market (the S$7.90 set meals are even cheaper!), especially in this period of recession, everyone would like to choose the best product at the value price. So, if you somehow would like to have a full lunch or dinner after school or work, you may give Delifrance a try. The whole portion is quite sufficient to fill your stomach and last for 2-3 hours.
Then, back to university. Said farewell to my Final Year Project's research fellow, Rajni, where her contract is ending and going back to India soon, and welcomed the new research fellow, Majid from Iran. Majid is a friendly person and treated us cashew nuts in two consecutive days! (after heard me saying that the nuts are very nice to munch, haha.) Thanks a lot!
(left to right): Majid, someone, Rajni
Mixed nuts brought far away from Iran.
Evening, went to Chocolate Affairs & Valenwine event organized by NTU Wine Society & Rotaract Club. Crowded with people who are busy savouring different kind of wines and chocolates...at only S$1 (for 5 different wines)!!! Somemore there is lucky draws for vouchers, chocolates, and wines! No luck to get any prices but have the opportunity to try different kinds of wines, be it Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merloz, from Australia, Brazil, or...etc.
Some of my friend got lucky prizes of chocolates, Risk board game & wines! Congrats!
STOP!!!
Are you under 21 years old?
If yes, you are not allowed to continue to read this post...really! R21 / Lapan-belas-SX! People without clothes cannot go in??? (Photos taken at the exit of Kamasutra exhibition)
"The Kama Sutra (Sanskrit: कामसूत्र), (alternative spellings: Kamasutram or simply Kamasutra), is an ancient Indian text widely considered to be the standard work on human sexual behavior in Sanskrit literature written by the Indian scholar Vatsyayana. A portion of the work consists of practical advice on sex. Kāma means sensual or sexual pleasure, and sūtra are the guidlines of yoga, the word itself means thread in Sanskrit." ~ Wikipedia.
Actually it was a small chocolate exhibition of Kamasutra, where patterns of sexual behaviors are crafted on top of the chocolate. Sounds interesting right? Photos were blur blur a bit, can't see properly, harrr...or am I too excited or too nervous to take photos? *Demi kebaikan penonton masyarakat umum, gambar di atas telah diblurkan. Terima kasih*
Dinner treated by Boon Pin with vegetarian pizzas from Canteen A's Canadian Pizza. After this blog, aja aja fighting for my Continuous Assessments next week and Final Year Project experiments and projects. Good day!
